I'm Darryl Siry. Siryous Advisors is my independent practice — strategic counsel, scoped engagements, and interim operating leadership for the critical moments that matter.
Background
Most of my career has been spent inside transformation — diagnosing what's actually broken, designing what should replace it, and then doing the work to make real change happen. The path has cut across a few industries, which turns out to be the point.
Three decades of senior operating roles across insurance, technology, and startups. I led sales and marketing at Tesla through the initial launch in the US and Europe, built data and analytics platforms inside large P&C carriers, built startups inside companies and independently. I spent the last decade in senior seats at PE-backed and founder-led insurance, MGA, and Insurtech businesses — focused on the data, technology, distribution, and operating work that determines whether a modern insurance business wins.
This unique combination is the point: Insurance domain depth plus Silicon Valley product sensibility and the operating discipline a startup founder's mistakes teach you. Few people have that mix; it shows up in every engagement I undertake.
How I work
I'm a first-principles operator. I get clear on what's actually true before I commit to a direction, and I'm willing to disagree productively with management and investors until we get to the right place. While that can feel intense, it's the price of getting a real diagnosis fast and accelerating value.
I bring a point of view based on reality and experience. I readily accept new facts and adapt without ego attachment. The best engagements feel less like a deliverable and more like a working partnership — short feedback loops, candid conversations, and a bias for putting ideas into action.
I work with a small number of clients on purpose. Depth requires time and commitment, and I can't be a substantive partner if spread too thin.
Most importantly, my focus is on accelerating value in short timeframes. True value creation must ultimately be delivered by your organization, not outside consultants. My engagements are not designed to sell additional work or create dependencies.

Outside of work
After a long and intense life in NYC and San Francisco, I now live with my wife in Savannah where the pace is...different. I ride bikes to clear my head and aspire to be a competitive car racer in my old age. We have a daughter pursuing her own creative path at SCAD.
